The Stranger Challenge: Can a Single Question Change How We See Each Other?

How much do you actually know about the person sitting across from you? Whether it is a partner, a best friend, or a teammate, we often settle for the same repetitive topics. We talk about the weather, our schedules, or our latest tasks, while the truly meaningful stories remain hidden.
To test the power of real connection, we took our Conversation Cards to the streets for a TikTok social experiment. We asked random strangers to pick a card and ask the question of the next person they met.

We watched as people moved instantly from “small talk” to profound, heartfelt reflections. Total strangers were suddenly discussing their life lessons and hidden dreams. It proved a powerful point: people are hungry to be seen and heard. If a simple card can create that much depth between strangers, imagine the impact it has on the people we love.

A Personal Journey for the SEIK Team

This project was not just about creating a product; it was about our own growth. Rudolf and I played the game with our team and our closest friends, and the experience was transformative. By asking questions we had never thought to ask before, we began to value the people around us on a much deeper level. We started to understand the “why” behind their actions and the experiences that shaped who they are today. It changed our office culture and our personal bonds, turning colleagues into a true community. The true value of these cards is found in moments of rediscovery.
