Sometimes the simplest gestures carry the deepest meaning. A family recently shared a story with us that perfectly illustrates this and reminds us all of the power of expressing love while we still can.
Last year, a Saara and her siblings planned to gift their father the SEIK book titled 100 Things I Love About Dad. They bought the book with the intention of filling it for Christmas, but life got busy, and they decided to wait for another occasion. Then, summer brought devastating news when their father was diagnosed with lung cancer. After a long period of treatment, he finally returned home just as Father’s Day was approaching.
A Message Written Just in Time
This time, the siblings did not wait. They sat down and completed the book fully, taking care to write every message and memory they wanted their father to know. On the very first page, they wrote a simple but powerful message: “We love you very much!”
When their father read the book that evening, he was deeply moved by their words. By the next morning, he had peacefully passed away.
The family later shared their gratitude with us:
“I am sincerely grateful we were able to tell him everything thanks to this book. Hold your loved ones close and do not hesitate to tell them why you love them. The next moment may never come.”
More Than Just a Keepsake
The 100 Things I Love About Dad book is part of our larger series designed to give people a meaningful way to express their feelings. Whether it is for a parent, a partner, or a friend, these books are created to make sure the people who matter most hear the words we sometimes leave unsaid.
In a world that moves so quickly, this story is a gentle but urgent reminder. Do not wait for a holiday or a special milestone to share your heart. Tell your loved ones you care today, because you never know if tomorrow will be too late.
